Rejuvenate Your Business with Vision and Purpose

Sometimes, you were too close to a project you lost the core reason why you started it in the first place. It might get done nevertheless. But in the end, you felt a bit empty when it was over.

Was it hard to move on the next project, feeling exhausted even before you begin?

It happens to all of us.

There are many ways to recharge. May be it is time for a small reward by taking a break? Or, you may prefer to celebrate with your family or partner. Making an appointment with local spa sounds like a great idea too.

The thing is, none of the above will make any difference when you are back on your desk. The energy is up, but the enjoyment with what your business is getting less significant and you are not as excited and raring to go as it used to be when you first started your business.

What is exactly going on here? How can you rejuvenate your business?

The key lies in getting your vision and purpose alive again.

Before you stop reading, let me tell you that it is probably the fastest and easiest method to find meaning again. It also could help tremendously in aligning your projects to move toward your goal.

If you never had written your business vision and purpose before, now is the time to get them on paper. The interesting thing with vision and purpose is that they are there all the time. They will unveil in front of you just by writing them down.

What is a vision and a purpose?

They are not things you achieve. That’s what a mission is for. Your vision and purpose are things that give meaning to what you are doing. You already own them.

There are many benefits you can get simply by writing them down:

  • It helps you set direction and organize lower level projects. What good a project is if it doesn’t align with your vision or purpose in the business?
  • Writing clarifies them. With a vision and a purpose in place, you can focus on them and see values in all your actions.

The value of having a vision and a purpose in your business is to know the difference and contribution you can make.

Start thinking big.

Here is an example of a good vision and purpose from a life coach:
“I share what I know and help others achieve their goals in life. I am committed to make a difference to people who I am doing business with. I continually commit to learn new things that could make a difference and contribute back to the world.”

Often only by reviewing them, you experience a new stream of energy. You understand why you are in business and in a larger sense, what your life is all about.

This, in return, allows you to be able to take a project that might seem impossible at first and take your business to the next level.
